With scada template types a distinction can be made between different types of software files. For an example, a user could have a scada template type for datablocks (DB) and another scada template type for structured text software. At least one template type is needed for generating PLC software. Examples of template types are:

- Datablock.

- Structured text.

- PLC Code.

Scada template types can be linked to different kind of objects:

1. To scada templates in scada location formats.

2. To scada typicals in scada modules.

3. To scada templates which are placed at a scada location in project.

In 'Project >> Scada location' data can be generated per template type. The use of template types simplifies the management of the scada generation. You can export the list of scada template types to Excel by clicking Export excel.
